Martin Sheen has a “Massive Effect” on the video game industry.

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Welcome back everyone to another advantageous adventure of SheensOnScreen! This week’s post is inspired by my roommates, because of their love of gaming and also because they are really big nerds, so thanks guys.

Well onto to the important stuff. It appears that Martin Sheen has taken on a new screen, a screen where everything we see is CGI, where people’s voice’s are the only actors needed, where dorks and nerds from around the SCI-FI world come together, where men actually find them selves being attracted to animated characters, where…wait, isn’t this also describing Avatar along with half a million other movies coming out today?

Well yes. But who cares! Martin Sheen is back on screen as the Illusive Man in Mass Effect 2. Published by Electronic Arts, it has a cast that cost the game millions, and for good reason. Here we’ve got Martin Sheen, Seth Green (as Jeff “Joker” Moreau), Carrie-Anne Moss (as Aria), and the women responsible for the most attractive CGI character in anything, ever, Yvonne Strahovski (as Miranda Lawson).

In this case we only got Martin on screen, and he’s not even REALLY on the screen, but after my two roommates beat the game 3 times between the two of them in the course of 2 weeks, I had no option other than to post this. Waking up every morning to Martin Sheen’s voice grumbling as my half-naked, white-bodied, red-headed roommate sits and stares at the screen for up to 8 hours a day, I felt it was necessary to post.

Here’s the trailer so you can get a feel for the game. And by the way it is an excellent game, I did actually sit threw most of it.

Thanks Sheeners, and remember…

Martin Sheen keeps his space-ship clean.

Michael Douglas creates SheensOnScreen.com

Facebook has now officially declared that it is “Doppelgänger Week”. This means that if you have ever been compared to a famous person, celebrity or anyone in the public eye now is your time to change your “Facebook Profile Pic” to that person. Well here at Sheens On Screen we decided it would be best to post our own doppelgänger.

Michael Douglas Doppelgänger

Michael Douglas

This may come as a surprise to you, but Michael Douglas is in fact NOT a Sheen. Even though these pictures have a striking resemblance, the two are not related. For many years I thought Michael Douglas was a Sheen and was incredibly surprised when IMDB (standing for Internet Movie Database for those of you who aren’t avid Internet Go-er’s) informed me that he wasn’t. The spawning of this site is actually in part due to Michael Douglas and without him we wouldn’t even exist! With that known, the tale of our creation begins…

As the story goes, one day a bunch of buddies and I were sitting in my basement watching TV when we came across a classic film known as “Wall Street”. I stayed on the channel for a few minuets as my friends and I conversed about various topics. As I was watching the film I noticed that Charlie Sheen was on screen. This of course was nothing new, but than I also happened to notice Martin Sheen sitting in the back corner of the shot. I said to myself wow, I never realized that this father and son couple starred in the same movies together and it was even more amazing that they were both on screen at the same time! Than out of the blue Michael Douglas walks on screen. I was dumb founded. I thought it was insane that there could be three Sheens on screen at the same time(obviously mistaking Michael Douglas for a Sheen). I leaned over to my friend and asked, “How many Sheens are on screen right now?” and with a roar of laughter thrown at me the idea was clear. A website that captured moments when Sheens were on screen together! It was beautiful, it was unique, it was my destiny. Well maybe thats going a little overboard but you get the idea, right? With that in mind I jumped on the topic and within a few short weeks the site was up and running.

Well thats our story ladies and gentlemen. Hope you enjoyed this week’s Sheens On Screen history lesson, see you soon!

Sheens and Drag Queens

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Ah, and the user submitted material keeps coming in. Today’s submission is from our friend Jarred who (lucky for us) has found two Sheens and three drag queens!

The picture’s a bit blurry but without a doubt we can still positively identify the two dead center as two of our favorite Sheens. I wonder what a night in the life of a Sheen is like? Maybe with enough support from our fans we can find out!

Luckily our friend Jarred didn’t stop with just one photo. He also found another classic Sheen-Estevez combo photo. As we can see here the three have migrated away from the classic Emilio on left, Charlie in the middle, Martin on the right architecture to the now popular “Sons at your side” organization method.

Well we’ll take them in any order, left to right, right to left, up to down or all around. As long as they’re beautiful Sheeny faces are on screen and all together, we don’t give a whoot! Well thanks for the submission Jarred, its one for the books!
